Since 1992, the third Saturday of August has been set aside to raise awareness about the pet overpopulation epidemic and to promote the best solution: spay/neuter your pet! Can’t adopt now. Here’s how you can help anyway!
Tax deductible donations of money, food and supplies are always appreciated to help us care for the 500 animals that arrive at the shelter every month. Over 80% of the animals come to us as strays. Check out our Wish List of items by visiting our new website at www.hssc.us.
Adopt a Kennel!
Your $20 a month “Special Friend” pledge helps us provide an animal with food, vaccinations, and other needed supplies. The personalized Red and White sign on the kennel door is a fantastic way to promote your business or organization!
Bring us your talent or passion! Walk a dog, clean a kennel, or help us plan an event and throw a great party to benefit the animals! Orientation is held at the shelter on the first Sunday of every month at 10 a.m. and the third Thursday of every month at 5 p.m.
