Title (Max 100 Characters)
DAVENPORT, Iowa – The weekend of June 22-24, 2012, in the beautiful woods of eastern Iowa, hundreds of Mountain Bikers will gather to ride bikes, talk bikes, play games on bikes, and socialize while standing next to bikes. It would be top shelf if you were riding, talking, playing and socializing next to us.
The festival home will be Scott County Park; thanks to our 10+ miles of sweet singletrack, but also because of the beautiful camping accommodations and additional attractions (swimming pool, golf course, playgrounds etc.) We will also be showcasing all of our mountain bike friendly parks throughout the weekend (3 additional systems, 15+ additional miles of singletrack within 10 miles of base camp). This includes Sylvan Island, named as a ‘Unique’ urban trail system, in DirtRag Magazine. On Friday the International Mountain Bike Association, IMBA, will present a seminar geared toward building a relationship between bikers and land managers, promoting the “Win-Win” of building MTB trails on public lands. Land Managers and MTB Club Advocates will gain the insight needed when working together. We will also be cooking out. We will be making new friends. We will be competing in a variety of biking games that are sure to challenge you as never before. But, most of all, WE WILL BE HAVING FUN AND ENJOYING THE CAMARADERIE OF HUNDREDS OF BICYCLING ENTHUSIASTS FROM THE MIDWEST REGION. Visit www.midwestmtbfest.com or www.qcforc.org for more information.
The 2012 Midwest MTB Festival is presented by the Friends of Off Road Cycling (FORC) and sponsored by Advocare Nutritional Supplements (P Klim), Rock Valley Physical Therapy, Ray’s MTB Park, Genesis Heart Institute, Subway, Rogue Hoes, IMBA, Terry, Clif Bar, Specialized, Trek, Giant, Johnson Mfg, and our super local bike stores, Healthy Habits, Trek Bicycle Store, B&B Cyclery, Bike & Hike, Jerry & Sparky’s, The Bicycle Station also Lindquist Ford, Jordan Hanson Photography, and Shaw Electric.
